If you are a true Liberal you will want to renew. You will want to keep the spirit of Liberalism strong.
Yes things are difficult because of the financial crisis but do you want the people that caused it to benefit by your apathy?
There are important banking reforms to be made but they won't happen if people give up. A Liberal society is not going to be built on instability or chaos.Evil will prevail when good people do nothing.

If a party has any value, it is about more than what its leaders are doing at the moment. The Liberal Democrats have the right core ideas and the right kind of active community, and you should use your voice and your vote to make it realize its potential. It's not a good idea to junk the whole thing, allow it to be annihilated at the next election, and wait for a liberal party with the perfect policies and strategy to appear.

Clearly the British Transport Police do not have enough to do so there must be too many of them. Cut the number and spend the cash on employing extra staff within London Ambulance Service. Although there is the converse view that if a nice police man brings the patient nearer to the entrance of the station I won't have to carry kit so far.

This evening, when I got home, there where two more cars without their windows!

I maanged to get the email address to one of our ward councillors and have sent her an email highlighting the issues and asking what action she plans to take.

After the AV vote is out of the way, my local LibDem party will also take this up and publicise this, raise awareness and press for answers from the council and the police as to their apparent lack of interest in dealing with these issues!

Will keep you all posted.

So, after the fiasco yesterday on the much fated Jubilee Line, Boris has pledged super human efforts to get the upgrades and work all completed by Summer. I am not sure which Summer he's referring to though... Will the new Alpha Female transport guru take charge of this and steer this through to completion?

2000 passengers stuck in trains, with operators apparently unable to open the train doors to let them off is not a good start to her new position.

We are in the 21st century, but do we have a network fit for purpose? I think not. Surely the first passengers from Baker Street over a hundred years ago where promised and delivered a service far superior to that on offer now.

I understand fully the need for upgrades and repairs, as well as station modernisation, but surely there firstly, has to be a better way to do this and secondly, where is the measure that the public can compare the progress of these works against?

Under-investment in the transport infrastructure of London is not new - it has been going on for decades - but 'Joe Public' has by now had enough of the delays, the over-runs, the disasterous PPI partnerships (which all failed) and most importantly, the said same Joe Public has completely run out of patience with a Mayor who has a unglued transport policy which has no forward planning and is seemingly in tatters.

Next year we host one of the most important dates in decades - the Olympic Games. What promises can we extract from our Mayor that he will have sorted out the Tube, sorted out the appalling industrial relations he has fostered and, most importantly, what will he have done to restore the confidence of the daily commuters who need to use the network on a daily basis in order to get to and from work, school and elsewhere?

The stage is yours Mr Mayor - tell us what you plan to do, how, when and by what means we can measure your achievements!

ahh found your site (was clicking too quickly and didn't see your url)
impressive
am interested in discussing more
chrishall@bangkokbay.co.uk
if you look at the site we inherited with the restaurant, it is somewhat lacking and not put together too well.
Although I am quite adept at HTML and php etc, I am no good at flash based sites, and this is where I think we want to go with the redesign.
I have an outline in my mind as to what we want - but it will need refining and clarification, but would include in addition to the website itself
- a blog
- a recipe section
- a gallery
- contact form/booking form
perhaps at a later date, we would be looking to add an online ordering system section - not sure that we want to go down that path at the moment though
